Jewel Mae, a Treasure
Springtown, Upper Bucks County, PA
Jewel Mae is located in the country village of Springtown on a hilltop at the end of a country lane. Farmlands cover much of the surrounding hills and valleys, and trout fishing in active streams is a popular pastime.

The stucco exterior is hand-rubbed in shades of yellow ochre and soft amber. Antique carved doors, 200-year-old gates, decorative ironwork, limestone and marble countertops, old barn beams and soaring windows are a few of the distinguishing features.

Inside, plaster walls are accented with soft colors in shades of sunsets; first floor ceilings are 15 feet. The living room has a walk-in fireplace and limestone floors with radiant heat. Everywhere are interesting details: a stained glass leaded window, arched doorways with Ionic columns, antique gas lanterns, Juliet balcony, French doors opening to small terraces, a simple raised fireplace built into a wall and a handcrafted chestnut staircase.

The kitchen is open and airy with random width antique pine floors, antiqued cabinetry and Viking Frig and Range.

The courtyard frames an outdoor kitchen with a built-in Viking Grill, fireplace, swimming pool with spa and a fresh air shower.

It is a home for romance and for entertaining intimately or on a grand scale. To arrive at Jewel Mae is to escape life's daily stresses. It is serene.

Within minutes of Jewel Mae, you will find gourmet food shopping, intimate dining, golf, equestrian and river activities of all kinds, interesting shops and galleries.

New York City is 90 minutes and Philadelphia about one hour.
